I introduced computer-generated Mazes to my logic puzzle website, kraztydad.com, a few years after introducing Sudoku puzzles to the site. I had developed a generalized algorithm for generating mazes on various grids, and eventually wrote software which could generate mazes using arbitrary silhouettes. These are the animal and dinosaur mazes which are now on the site. My friend Craig Kaplan at the University of Waterloo has done much more extensive work in this area, but I haven't had time to pursue it fully.
One of my unfinished projects is a website that makes it easy for visitors to construct and share custom mazes on top of their drawings and photos.
